All Out for
the National Equality March!
On October 10-11, thousands of people will gather at the National
Equality March
in Washington,
DC. On that day, the movement for LGBT liberation will once
again hit the streets to demand full equality for all LGBT people.
The LGBT community continues to be denied basic democratic
freedoms such as the right to marry, the right to a job free from
discrimination, and the right to live free from the threat of
violence and harrasment. History has shown that the only factor
that will bring lasting justice and equality for LGBT people is a
mass movement for full civil rights. The
National Equality March represents another step in building
that movement.
The Equal Rights
Initiative endorses the National Equality March and calls on all
progressive people to mobilize for the march. For those who are
unable to attend the march in DC, we encourage you to take part in
a simultaneous march across the Golden
Gate Bridge being organized by Marriage
Equality USA.
